Irish Research Council celebrates Culture Night 2016
Posted: 25 September, 2016
On Friday night last, 16 September, we celebrated Culture Night with a jam-packed schedule of family friendly activities in the beautiful surroundings of Boston College Ireland.
We were delighted to be able to give some of our researchers the opportunity to showcase their work and take part in the single largest cultural event in the calendar.
With over 400 people in attendance over the course of the night, Boston College was a hive of activity. From vortex smoke cannons and Gospel music, to Ethiopian dance and traditional Irish music there was a huge variety of performances, demonstrations and interactive talks.
There was also plenty for younger fans to enjoy with face painting and a ‘scribblebot’ workshop, aimed at introducing young people to science, technology, art and design.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Boston College who were so welcoming and provided such a picturesque location for the night’s activities. Finally, to all our fantastic researchers who were so generous with their time and made the night such a success.
