The Irish Research Council is pleased to announce the opening of a call for nominations of Irish-based researchers with our strategic partners the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings for the 74th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, dedicated to Chemistry. Further information is available at www.lindau-nobel.org.
The meeting will be held from 29 June to 4 July 2025 on the island of Lindau, situated on Lake Constance in south Germany. Up to 600 highly-talented young scientists are expected to take part, meeting with Nobel Laureates.
Selection Process
The Irish Research Council, as a strategic partner with the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, runs a national selection process. Eligible higher education institutions may nominate up to three researchers at postgraduate and/or postdoctoral level who will be considered by the IRC’s panel of international assessors to attend the 74th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting.
A maximum of three shortlisted candidates will be nominated to the international selection process, which is conducted by the Lindau Review Panel. This panel makes the final selection from up to 1,500 profiles for every meeting before choosing the top applicants who will receive an invitation to attend. Taking into account the national selection procedures worldwide, in excess of 20,000 young researchers apply to attend each meeting.
Irish Research Council nominees who are successful in the international selection process and receive an invitation to the 74th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting will receive an award which comprises €500 to cover their travel expenses for attending the meeting.
