European Social Survey
CLOSED
A new national research agency, Taighde Éireann/Research Ireland, has been established by the government. The agency will amalgamate the work of the Irish Research Council and Science Foundation Ireland. The full operation of Taighde Éireann will be enabled over the coming period.
The Call for the appointment of the National Coordinator for Ireland for Round 12 of ESS is now open on 02 September 2024. Call documents and application forms can be found on this page on the right hand sidebar.
The ESS is an academically-driven social survey designed to chart and explain the interaction between Europe’s changing institutions and the attitudes, beliefs and behaviour patterns of its diverse populations.
Currently in its twelfth round, the survey covers more than 30 nations. It is a repeat cross-sectional survey and uses the most rigorous methodologies. It is funded through the European Commission’s Framework Programmes, the European Science Foundation and national funding bodies in each country.
The ESS allows governments, policy analysts and scholars to keep up with social trends that affect how democracy is working and how European citizens perceive their lives, their nations, and the world.
The call for the appointment of the National Coordinator for Ireland for Round 12 of ESS is now open.
The closing date for applications to the Call is 4pm on Monday 14th October 2024.
